Our Bunks Across America build is taking place on Saturday September 12th from 8-11 am at the Old Armory Pavilion, which is also generously sponsored by the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. Kids are welcome (there's roles they can do), and no construction experience is required. By signing up you are agreeing to the liability form attached to this opportunity.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace would love to have 40 volunteers for our large “Bunks Across America” bed build with Lowe’s where they’re sponsoring for us to build 50-60 beds!
Lowe's and Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) are generously sponsoring a bed build for 50+ local kids without beds! Your volunteering to help build these 50+ beds will help make them a reality for kiddos without beds. Afterwards, Lowe's is providing lunch for every volunteer :)
This event is a part of SHP's annual "Bunks Across America" event, where most of its 400 local chapters host bed builds the same week! SHP's mission statement is "No kid sleeps on the floor in our town" and our local chapters have built & delivered 350,000 beds for kids without them. In only 5 months, our new local SHP chapter has built and delivered 49 beds :)
In addition to serving kids without beds, this endeavor also serves the soul of the community, providing a powerful volunteer opportunity to build & deliver beds, build community, and grow in our service journeys.
