The student organization FURR maintains the cat population on the Ole Miss campus in Oxford. In 2002, about 200 cats were roaming campus. Successful application of TNR has reduced the population to roughly 20 cats living on campus, being litter-free for over a decade.
These cats need committed volunteers to feed them on weekdays, Monday through Friday (can be split up). FURR is now looking for volunteers that would feed the cats specific feeding stations across campus during the week. Just once a day, preferably before 11 AM.
Locations are near the Northgate Apartments and Guyton Hall Annex.
You need to be able to walk on uneven terrain, rain or shine. Food will be provided, no cost to the volunteer.
Sign up if you are interested and we will connect you to organizer for an in-person walk through and tour of the stations! Anyone is welcome, not only students or faculty/staff!
