Studs Terkel's award-winning book, Working, comes to life on the Powerhouse stage in Oxford April 10th and 11th in a musical adaptation by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Raso, directed by Christopher Schager. Justin Wadkins provides musical direction with choreography by Jennifer Mizenko and additional contributions by Gordon Greenberg.
Schoolteachers, phone operators, waitresses, millworkers, masons, housewives, and others tell of their lives and loves and trials with songs by composers Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mary Rogers, Susan Birkenhead, Stephen Schwartz, and James Taylor.
The production is rated PG and takes place Friday, April 10th, at 7:30 PM, and Saturday, April 11th, at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM.
