Oxford Christmas Parade Guidelines
1. REQUIRED: A. LOU Location Requirement: Due to the popularity of the parade, all entries must be based in the LOU (Lafayette, Oxford, University) community. If there are still open spots once our capacity is nearly reached, we may consider applications from surrounding areas.
B. Signage: Each entry must have clear and readable signage on both sides that displays the name of the business, organization, or title of the entry. This signage helps identify your group and adds to the parade’s professionalism.
C. Decorations: All entries must be decorated with holiday-themed decorations. To be eligible for judging, decorations should align with the parade theme. The visual appeal and adherence to the theme play a significant role in the judging criteria.
D. Throws: If your entry plans to hand out items such as candy, cups, or small toys, there must be at least four adults walking alongside the entry to distribute these items by hand. This ensures safety for parade spectators and prevents items from being thrown, which can lead to safety hazards.
E. Meeting Attendance: We are hosting two informational meetings to go over parade guidelines and logistics. These meetings are to ensure that all participants understand the rules and expectations.
